This page is to inform and educate about Asparaginase Pegilada for initial treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia, but can be treated successfully using Asparaginasa Pegilada in Colombia .
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia ( ALL) is the most common cancer in children and accounts for about a quarter of all cancers among people under 15 . It is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow (the spongy center of the bone tissue). In ALL , too many bone marrow stem cells develop into a type of white blood cells called lymphocytes. These abnormal cells are unable to fight infections well . Also, with increasing the number of lymphocytes , the room for white blood cells, red blood cells , and platelets is reduced. This can cause infections , fatigue and bleeding easily occur . The copy of the March 21, 2007 , issue of JAMA (The Journal of the American Medical Association) includes an article on the increase in the number of secondary malignancies over 30 years after successful treatment of ALL . The results suggest that monitoring is required for life to people who survive ALL.
